The short answer
Choose the agency that can show you a real, dated result you can check yourself, explains exactly what it will do each month, and measures success on a fixed list of your customers’ questions. The name it uses for the service, GEO, AEO or AI visibility, matters far less.
Nine questions to ask before you sign
1. Can I check one of your results myself?
Ask for one client result with the exact question, the AI assistant and the date, then type the question in yourself. Answers vary from day to day, so a client named in some checks but not others is normal. A result you cannot reproduce at all is not evidence. You can try ours: ask ChatGPT for the best tree transplantation company in Dubai and read our Adi General Trading case study.
2. Which questions will you track for me?
You should see a written list of the questions your customers ask, such as “best physiotherapy clinic in Dubai Marina”, before work starts. If the agency cannot tell you what it will measure, it cannot tell you whether it worked.
3. Which AI assistants do you check, and how often?
At minimum ChatGPT and Google’s AI answers. Ask whether each question is checked more than once, because a single screenshot can flatter or alarm you. Here is how we measure.
4. What exactly happens each month?
Pages written or fixed, listings cleaned up, reviews requested, mentions earned, reports sent. Vague answers mean vague work.
5. Will you change my website, and who owns it?
Much of the work is on your own site. Make sure you keep ownership of the site, the content and every account the agency creates for you.
6. How do you get other websites to mention us?
The honest answers are directories that matter in your industry, partners, real press and genuine reviews. Paid link packages and planted posts are the wrong answer.
7. Who writes the content, and who checks it?
AI tools help with drafts, and that is fine. Mass-publishing unchecked AI text is not: Google’s spam policies target it directly. Ask who reviews each page before it goes live.
8. How long until I see something?
First mentions often take three to six weeks once the basics are fixed. The top three for a main service usually takes two to three months. An agency promising days is guessing.
9. What happens if it doesn’t work?
Look for a clear answer in writing, such as a minimum term followed by month-to-month, or a guarantee tied to the questions you agreed. Ours is on the guarantee page.
Red flags
- A promise to make you “number one in ChatGPT”, with no method for measuring it.
- Fake or incentivised reviews, or an offer to write reviews for you.
- Hundreds of near-identical pages, one per area or keyword, written by AI and never checked.
- “Paid placement inside ChatGPT’s answer”. OpenAI’s ads, where they run, are labelled and shown separately, and OpenAI says they don’t affect the answer.
- A twelve-month lock-in before you have seen a single result.
- Reports full of traffic charts but no list of the questions you are, or are not, named for.
What a fair contract looks like
A short minimum term, two or three months for a smaller business, then month-to-month. A fixed list of tracked questions in the contract. A monthly report you can read in five minutes. You own everything. Prices in writing, with VAT shown. For context, see what AI visibility, SEO and websites cost in Dubai.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between a GEO agency, an AEO agency and an AI visibility agency?
Mostly the name. GEO (generative engine optimisation), AEO (answer engine optimisation) and AI visibility all describe getting a business named and quoted in AI answers. Judge the agency by what it does each month and how it measures results, not by the label.
Can an agency guarantee that ChatGPT will recommend me?
Nobody controls ChatGPT. A fair agency guarantees the part it controls, for example appearing for an agreed share of tracked questions by a date, and puts its fee behind it. A promise of “number one in ChatGPT” with no measurement method is a red flag.
Should I trust “best GEO agencies in Dubai” lists?
Use them as a starting point only. Many are written by agencies that rank themselves first. Check each agency’s own results, with dates and screenshots you can reproduce.
